Black-Blood Restricted Field of View Sequence for Pre-Ablation Imaging of the Atria
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction Pre-ablation MR imaging of atria in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) or flutter (AFL) is one of the most challenging applications of cardiac MRI [1]. However, knowledge of the atrial anatomy, in particular the wall thickness, is important for the subsequent ablation procedure; suboptimal ablation settings may entail a re-connection of tissue, or bear the risk of a puncture of the thin (2mm) atrial wall. A restricted FOV MR sequence which allows exclusive imaging of the atria was evaluated in the present study. The targeted imaging sequence provides a clear depiction of the atrial wall thickness with submillimeter resolution in a clinically acceptable scan time and mitigates motion artifacts, particularly in patients in AF.

Percutaneous microwave ablation of thyroid nodules: efficacy evaluation with 99m Tc - pertechnetate and 99mTc-MIBI functional imaging
Background: Local ablative treatments play an important role for patients who cannot be treated surgically. Radiofrequency ablation is a well-established alternative to surgical treatment of thyroid nodules, however it also has disadvantages. Microwave ablation (MWA) is a new minimally invasive treatment promising several improvements. The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the eff...

Background: The rationale was to develop an ablation approach to destroy regions of tumor resistant to radiation and thus reduce the time required for whole tumor ablation, while improving overall tumor control after radiotherapy. Materials and Methods: The system is composed of a micro positron emission tomography (mPET), 7T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and a customized MRI-compatible foc...

متن کامل3D high-resolution atrial wall thickness maps using black-blood PSIR
Background Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common cardiac arrhythmia. It is often treated using catheter ablation, which aims to isolate arrhythmogenic regions by delivering localized energy. Whereas an insufficient energy delivery can lead to AF recurrence, excessive power can cause potentially lethal complications. Knowledge of atrial wall thickness can help select an optimal amount of e...
متن کاملColor Matching of Blends Prepared From Black and White Fibers by Neural Networks (TECHNICAL NOTE)
The color of the blends of pre-colored fibers depends on the ratio of each fiber in the blends. Some theories have been introduced for color matching of blends of pre-colored fibers. Most however, are restricted in scope and accuracy. Kubelka and Munk presented the most applicable theory, which is still used in industry. In this work, the classical Kubelka-Munk method for color prediction of a ...
